Federal prosecutors from United States of America have asked 5 banks from the country to freeze tens of millions of dollars, money which should be given to the poler players who play online.
Precisely, the frozen payments are estimated to be more than 33 million dollars. But the worst thing is that 27,000 poker players are affected.
John Pappas, the executive director of the PPA affirmed that in the last two weeks the federal prosecutors have asked two banks to freeze funds which should be given to two companies.
Stephen Cohen, who work at the Citibank, has confirmed that the bank has received a request from prosecutors. Even Wells Fargo said that they have to respect a policy with some intrstructions as they could seize some funds.
Another spokeswoman, a person who work for the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York said that the district refused to make comments about the issues.
