Education Involves Gambling

Twenty-three years ago, proponents sold voters on the Florida Lottery by pledging that revenues generated by state-run gambling would be a boon to public education. But Floridians soon discovered that lottery proceeds often simply replaced state general revenue funding for schools.

Days ago, the Governor Charlie Crist wanted to use the public education to tout legislation that makes himenable while negociating a casino gambling‘s expansion.

Charlie Crist said that there will be provided much revenues that they need to help them developing the world-class schools in USA. He mentioned that he would like to have a payment which is guaranteed annually from the tribe of around 150 million dollars eaach year.  Saying this in other words, definitely the casino revenue would not like to help so much developing the world-class schools. Even if the lottery gives education some revenues which are around 1 billion dollars each year, Florida’s public schools are definitely among the lowest-funded in the nation.
The Florida Lottery’s Web site claimes that residents who believe their dreams could become real, as millions enjoy ‘water-cooler dreaming’ with friends and families about what could they possibly do if they won the big jackpot.
